It shows simultaneous MS pouring out water and the river of brown water coming from either one of the breeches in the MS wall or from the very top. Previous photos have not shown that combination! My guess would be that it is coming from the place where the sluice is broken. There was a failure point near the break that held up pretty well for several days, but could now be FUBAR. The stream looks like it could be 10 feet or wider in some places, so it's not a dinky rivulet. It'll continue to widen. If by some act of God the dam system doesn't fail, they will need to take the dam down rather than repair it. If they do repair it, it'll be a fool's errand. It will fail. I build lakes, dams and overflows. This thing is over. I called this on Geo's thread from the early days. I have hundreds of informative posts on that thread. What scenario looks most likely to you? Will it be the MS washing out the bottom support of the dam as that stream widens? Or will that have little effect? It seems to this lay person that if they can't turn off the MS, it will continue to produce increasing amounts of damage to earthen support side. Yet they can't close the MS, or they get a rapid ES failure. My original hope was that they shut down the Main Spillway completely and allow the Emergency Overflow to handle the water for a period of time. Alternate the two overflows until we get through the spring. After the near immediate failure of the emergency overflow, I began to understand the ominous outlook. Since the the EO failed they had no choice but to run the main spillway til it fails...they have now done that. I'm sure they were hoping that we would have more favorable weather conditions at this point...no such luck. This is a clusterfuck and I do not envy those who are calling the shots. My main concern is that they get the folks out before this becomes deadly. They are pumping concrete into the ground by the MEGATON. That strikes me as desperation.
