I thought the exact same thing. It would have taken Michelle so little to be loved by us, but she and her husband hated us, it was so apparent.

Melania did a beautiful thing! God bless her!!

Maybe because it's not her 1st language. But it did appear she was reading the prayer.

That said Priest read prayers they know by heart at mass all the time.

She is fantastic. I love it.

She gets it. We need lots of prayers and good energy to fight the enemy that hates us for just wanting to mind our own damn business.

I would read it too....dont want to make a mistake...especially when your enemies are also watching.

Heck look when Trump said 2 instead of second (Cor.). Look at all the idiots here that post about your, you're, yore etc.

I'm glad she read it. I was surprised and so happy to hear her voice in such beautiful prayer.

I imagine it has to be somewhat frightening to get up there and speak, all the while knowing that there are monsters who are calling for your husbands actual murder. :(

She was poised and did a brilliant job. We have a wonderful first lady and I know she'll grow into that position with grace. I like her more than Ivanka - and I like Ivanka very much.

We finally have a president and first lady that actually loves this country! We need to continue praying for President Trump and his family. Surround them with God's protection.

What is the downside to every able-bodied, like-minded individual who considers themselves 'Christian' standing up by the 10's of Millions and saying, "No. We have had enough!".

So beautiful, I just love Melania. I think that saying the prayer was all her idea from what I read in the article and that President Trump didn't know she was going to do that, could be wrong, but that's how I read it.
