You left out discuss voraciously - he seems to think I am a walking encyclopedia so we spend a lot of time doing research on google in regard to his questions. I majored in History a million years ago before dropping out of college - I tend to do a lot of Anthropological leaning reading - I am interested in new developments that are changing how we look at the world - like the discovery of Gobekli Tepe, Turkey - and mourn the lack of funding to continue deeper research into some of the ancient finds here in our own country. I think there is some politics involved. For example they don't seem very willing to publish the DNA results of the 7,000 year old recovered brain material from the Windover Pond site in Central Coastal Florida. There are internet claims the DNA is of European decent but that would really bust up the Bearing Land Bridge theories all to hell. I find stuff like this frustrating. For years they would never consider preClovis finds because they did not fit the dogma. Anyway this is my kind of History interest, my son is more mainstream. |
