When everyone is going the same speed, regardless of what the speed limit is, everyone is in a much safer place!

When we have ONE idiot doing 60mph in a 60mph zone, and every other motor vehicle in the vicinity is doing 75mph, this single Law Abiding idiot is creating a driving hazard!

Like little ducks in a row, people who live there do the same thing.

Everyone is directly on each others ass, while the left lanes are wide open.

Imagine a train of vehicles several miles long. Suddenly everyone panics when someone enters an on ramp for the freeway. All those cars in the right lane, suddenly bail out to the left lane, and this is where the massive accidents happen.

The times I've been there, getting around is very easy. Staying in the open left lane with no other traffic to deal with is great. 

These people will sit in a traffic jam, and NOT move into the left lane to get away from it.

These people STOP at all yield signs regardless if any traffic is present.
If the speed limit is 60, they WILL NOT be doing 59, or 61mph. Only 60mph.

It's quite common to see them in a residential area that has a posted 30mph limit, doing 50+mph like its nothing.

They absolutely love to run Red Lighted intersections. If in the area, always be careful of this.

Same here. The most dangerous place on the road is behind another driver.

If in Midland, Texas, you enter the entrance ramp, quickly slow down, or actually stop before entering the freeway.

Next, you turn your head to see if anyone is coming. If not, you very slowly accelerate towards freeway speeds, being very sure not to exceed the 45mph speed limit sign you last had on the feeder road.

Once on the freeway at 45mph, you wait until you see the next speed limit sign that allows you to do 60mph.

I drive my automobiles the same way I operate my motorcycle. Seems a workable combination..

They usually do that on slip roads they've had to or accidently made too short to do 60 or sometimes its done for noise considerations.

and when you pull out our or change lane on a bike you do a 'life saver' check over your shoulder every time. right?

signs of the times...people are extremely arrogant, self centered, self absorbed, "rights" oriented, and inconsiderate beyond beyond...its my job to TRY and piss off at least one person on the roads everyday...just by driving the speed limit...if I can do that....I've accomplished something....the country is doomed.

Whatever the reason, it's dangerous as hell. Rear End collisions are very common in the area because of this.

Where I'm from, whoever gets there first has Right of Way. Everyone understands this, everyone plays by this rule.

Other than driving a Hyundai, I know of no current vehicle that would have a problem hitting the freeway AT freeway speeds on these entrance ramps.

Fact is, these people are stupid, and I wish there was another honest and non demeaning explanation, but there isn't .

What are the roads like in america? do people actually generally do the speed limit.

most people in the uk are doing 90-110 on the motorways, a few old, inferm or naieve stick to 70. yet crashes are not so much an issue. they usually result from people not paying attention.

Even without doing this, believe me, I already know where you are because I'm looking for incompetent and hazardous drivers who pose a risk to my safety.

Generally, I know what you are about to do before you do it, and I'm already taking evasive measures before the thought comes to your mind. With 180,000+ miles of motorcycle riding experience the last 37 years, I'd say I'm doing something right, eh?

I wish you "Cagers" would offer us the same courtesy, and concern for our life, but accident after accident continues to prove you don't care!
