The reality is, once TPTB, go to their bunkers, and the end comes or a massive disaster, their own security guards will kill them. They have no one truly loyal to them anymore. Just fellow monsters, and mercenaries.

Both of which, would quickly devour them, once TPTB, are of no use to them. TPTB, suspect this, that is why they are obsessed with "brain implants for world peace", type nonsense, as well as mind reading technology.

I agree in the sense that IT work will be largely useless.

But I disagree that today's IT workers, the individuals, will be useless. Some IT professionals are experts at bringing real solutions to incredibly complicated problems, are experts at engineering processes that improve productivity, and take pride in efficiency. While their professional expertise is IT, having such an active mind usually also translates to being jacks-of-all-trades in other areas. There are IT folks who own and run their own farms, you know. Having a 'desk job' doesn't necessarily imply one is predisposed to shirk extremely difficult labor.

me and my husband are getting up in age, and we know how to do everything. we can create something from nothing. we've seen... everything. all the diseases, all the problems. we come from a time before the internet too, which i think counts for something. young people, even those who TRY to learn skills, I(which are few these days) still haven't got the experience we have.

Politicians, journalists and media personalities.

Really. Most of the IT workers i know have been buying guns and supplies, learning to shoot, and prepping. At least the older ones. the younger ones are snowflakes.

The meek will inherit the earth. No one in the trillion dollar bunkers is going to survive. They have heaped up treasures in the last days. They will all turn on one another, and those bunkers will become their tombs.

Can we cave in the ventilation?

I'm a research scientist (physicist) myself. I doubt we'd have much use in an apocalyptic scenario.

I realized a long time ago there are only two types of people and that is the sheep and the wolves. The majority of people out there just want to be left alone and will roll over to tyranny when it comes knocking. The wolves on the underhand are those whom use violence to get what they want and they are always willing to take it to the next level which is more violence.
