India is Hindu, and it's a lot less civilized than Islamic Indonesia.

I've had the opportunity to travel a lot in my life.. been to every continent except for Antarctica. Haven't been to every country on the list but the ones I have been too I generally agree. Have no desire to go back to Turkey or India. The Pyramids are something to see though. The sad thing about Syria is that it was a decent country especially when compared to others in the Middle East before the war. My wife wasn't required to cover up and was dressed like a regular western woman.

Every time someone talks about traveling, that is what i tell them.

India is a predominantly Hindu majority population but with large Muslim, Christian, Sikh and Buddhist and Jain minorities.
You are fine to travel there.
