Thanks AC 70310636 this gives me something to search on. I did not know Van Allen himself said they passed through the VAB. There's a quote from Van Allen at the top of this webpage that directly addresses the hoax radiation claims. That page was setup by a working aerospace engineer and makes for a good starting point for further learning on the subject of space exploration. |

Quoting: Mr. Smokey I have never seen any real proof that they are able to shield the people inside the craft from radiation of lethal levels. I read an article not too long ago that said most or all of the Apollo astronauts could see something similar to shooting stars on their way to the moon. Even when they had their eyes closed. It is theorized that this was some kind of radiation they were exposed to. |
