Quoting: Larry D. Croc Every time I need them I can't find them and run to the hardware store because it's easier to buy instead of find. And don't get me started on tape measures... You need at least two sets of hex keys, since the metric ones and the SAE don't cross over entirely. You also need backups in case you're in the middle of a job and one gets lost or broken. That's four sets already. Tape measures just appear at Harbor Freight. Bring the right coupon. Ive only owned one set of hex keys in my life. A little rusted but never lost. Truth be told, I leave my hexes unlocked. |

I like the look of many things too. I've never been able to accomplish that look but I admire those who can. Some folks have the most interesting things on their tabletops and it feels happy and cheery. I have a basket of newspapers, a pair of jeans, @ bottle febreze, bleach, jar of borox, rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, bag if apples and the toast detector that comes down from the wall when I maje toast. Some people have a knack with clutter. Not me. Some homes look like very interesting and talented people live there. Mine looks like I need help. |

Will I magically be smart enough to understand this duh after ive tidied up? Some areas are supposed to be messy/ non auspicious Garden compost, cleaning area, toilet, storage Other areas should be productive / energetic According to fungshooey 2 MAIN schools of Fung shooey Direction sckool (My fav) & element skool (much more complicated) Tell me your birth year And out of the 8 cardinal directions 4 will be suitable for productivity (sleep, rest, cooking etc) Im doing it all wrong then. I chop the compost fine so it rots quickly. Otherwise it blows around. The kitchen aink and bathroom have to be imoeccably clean. Its the spaces that should be auspicious that are outrageous. I havent thought of feng shui in years. |

Also do things in good time, don't leave every fucking thing til the last minute - if you have a to do list get it done already don't leave it all just floating around - it will make you feel MUCH BETTER! Simple stupid things, but seeing as we are in fact simple stupid things - it does make a BIG DIFFERENCE to your state of mind. The mind doesn't have a firewall - surrounded by ugly disjointed stuff, graffiti, trash, neglect, disorder, dirt, noise dejenerates, blah blah, it all has an insidious effect on you - good luck! Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. |

Sugarbaby User ID: 70193528 United States 02/28/2017 07:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've done it. I'm not 100% completely done with my house, but I've done enough in my home where it has made a difference. The major difference is that I have more time but I also spend less money. I followed the directions in her book to the letter, i wanted to see the full efficacy, or failure, but only if I did it her way. Quoting: Sugarbaby Did you do it in big sessions or little bites? I was so pleased with my wardrobe (I dont wear many clothes so why have many clothes?) that I pulled out papers and somehow got distracted by cleaning a closet. I kind of need to get back on track. I like the effects but get overwjelmed by the process. It gets kind of deep, too. Doesnt it? If you have an Iphone you can download the app which breaks down each section into subsections. I glanced over it to get a sense of how to sub categorize, and it helped with being overwhelmed. Follow her advice to pull everything out and put it into a staging area. For example, I pulled out every item of clothing out of my room/closet for the category i was working with. I used my living room as a staging area, and went through the process of deciding which to keep and which to sell/donate there. It took me 2 solid days over a weekend to go through all of my clothes and fold them in the manner which she recommends. the folding methods look trivial, but they do help. I got rid of 2/3 of all my clothing and kept was was beautiful and essential. It takes me literally 15 minutes in the morning to get ready from shower to door. This is all due to the konmari method of having all neat and tidy. The worst categories are paper and sentimental. I'm still working on both of those in layers. Best of luck! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74125181 I can say for 100% sure that having a good clear out can be good for you. The problem is it ether don't last or you end up being a tidy freak. It feels good at the time ...The older you get the less you care. As long as your house is clean and semi tidy then you have a good balance. Hope that helps. That sounds about right to me. |
