Why do the majority people who play guitar seem more intelligent and open-minded than those who rap?

Most people who rap or are into rap seem to have a limited range of interests and tastes. Take for example, alcohol, you'll find most rappers and rap fans only drink hennessy and a couple of other choices and can conceive of nothing else. They aren't even interested in trying anything else and stick to the same thing for decades. Anything deviating away from the rapper norm is considered as gay or weird or unusual within those circles.

On the other hand the guitarists and those involved with bands are open to trying different kinds of beers, craft beer, and different drinks. They will be willing to listen or try other genres of music, etc. Many seem quite smart and have opinions on everything from politics to conspiracy theories, while a lot of rap people wouldn't even be able to tell you the name of 3 presidents not including Obama.

Same thing with movies. Those into rap only seem to watch and be into movies based around rap and ghetto culture. The guitarists don't only watch movies about rock music. They watch a more wide variety.

It can't all be to do with education. I know many guys in bands who have little or no education and are just working class dudes but they still seem to have more depth to them than the rap guys do.

So why is rap and rap culture more closed-minded than guitarist/rock/metal culture?
