Nahum 2:4-8

The Chariot Wheels race madly through the Pathways;
They rush to and fro in the Squares
They glow like Torches;
They dart like Lightning.
He takes mind of the Officers;
They trip as they go,
They run to the Wall;
A Siege Tower is set.
River Gates are opened;
The Palace melts;
The Mistress is stripped naked;
She is carried off,
her slave girls are screaming,
Crying like doves
and beating on their Breasts.
Nineveh is like the Gazing Pool
whose Waters have fled away
“Stop it! Stop it!” they scream,
but no one turns back again.
