Its been that way forever, the reason most people agree to it when the sign on as salary or hourly, is because you get a cheaper rate negotiated this way. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1619873 So the government mandating it comes out of your check is nothing new, the only change would be if your workplace did not offer health insurance, and the government took it out instead Oh, I see. We just need to bend over further and become more like the Queen wants us to be and do EVERYTHING like the British. Sure, Ok. |

Quoting: jake Instead of under reconciliation. Rinos are very good at playing this fake Game. They pass the parts they want to get rid of then comes phase 2 and 3 and they say, oh sorry America it didn't pass. Large projects in the business world are often done in phases, it is great to see our president apply this practice to government. |

I initially read the headline and then the tweet thinking that Rand was going to have a say. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73698332 Now after reading just the tweet, it looks like DJT is trying to rein in Rand. Not too happy about that. There is no difference, when it comes down to it. Rand has the power to deny it, and he should use that to get his bill voted on. |

Why does my skin start crawling at the mere thought of any of them? Is each of them secretly Pelosi in drag? It's not a feeling. It IS a triumvirate. They'll come crashing down soon. Trump can only do so much at a time. But he's handing out their rope too. My current mantras: Patience is a virtue. Good things come to those who wait. Noah is STILL on the ark. God Bless President TRUMP! GOD BLESS AMERICA!! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 54329648 United States 03/08/2017 11:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't call this health insurance, I call it my second life insurance policy so I don't lose my house when I get sick. I don't see how Ryan's proposal changes this. Each state should figure out their health care laws. Social Security has already been promised to seniors and disabled. Veterans care has been promised to veterans. The poor have been promised health care by Obamafail. You just can't take away what you have promised. But to make everyone else cover the promises the government made is just wrong. This administration will be hated like the last one if they don't get rid of this burden on the people. Americans want health care we can afford. We want to be able to see our doctors when we're sick and not lose our homes. We don't mind adding a little to our premiums so the poor can have coverage but we do mind when the poor can go to the doctors because they can get free health care and we have to choose between healthcare and eating. I don't see how Ryan's plan changes any of this. Maybe he needs to sell it better because this is not the change I voted for. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74246783 Sounds good to me. no way, states and municipalities are way worse than the feds on this front..ffs its very likely that the real reason this is being made out to be a "national" problem in the first place is because of the state and local unions are dead broke for simply attempting to provide benefits for a tiny fraction of the population, something some of us told all of you was impossible from the start |

You can't have non-mandatory healthcare and people not being covered at the same time. Also if you give young and healthy people the option to opt out of health insurance then you have very expensive health insurance for the rest. Someone will always be bitching. |
