Is technology ruining our memory? Due to the increase in surrounding technology, we are able to rely on our fingertips rather than our minds when researching and learning information. When it comes to memory, there are two main types. The first type is called non-declarative memory and non declarative and is used by the brain to remember skills, motions, and movements. The second type of memory is used to remember facts and information, and is referred to as declarative. Using technology to look up facts and information extends your declarative memory; however, research provides information that it can be harmful as well. Having information at our fingertips eliminates the need to remember information.
