Will it be visible or noticeable in some way before it hits?
 Quoting: Normal Is Subjective

In terms of visibility, you will see the effects translated into very stormy weather in the first week of March. The sun will also "darken", giving the impression that less light is reaching the earth, whereas in fact we will be experiencing the consequences of vigorous solar winds.

Satellite transmissions will also begin to suffer in the first week of March, although we're hoping to mitigate the worst effects.

were you the same guy that warned of imminent comet impact last may?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 194979

No, I have never before issued any warning. If we were in danger of an ordinary comet impact, every amateur astronomer would know well in advance.

If you actually work there, tell me what is on the wall behind the reception desk.
Also, there is something in the "mall area". What is this?

Blue jean baby, l.a. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, youll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now shes in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

Jesus freaks out in the street
Handing tickets out for god
Turning back she just laughs
The boulevard is not that bad

Piano man he makes his stand
In the auditorium
Looking on she sings the songs
The words she knows, the tune she hums

But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly, slowly

Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today

.....

ESA, could you please tell us why you're so concerned about this and who told you about this event.
Are you allowed to talk about it, and if no, why?

Assume some kind of energy coming.
How is a "prewarn" possible?
The only warn yu get is the front hitting, and a microsecond later you are not there anymore.
So?

more info please, op your credibility is in question

Yep I second that, tell us all you know, what gives you the conclusion that it should be devastating? Elaborate already!
Technical explanations etc etc ...

I write a lot about satellite specs and new technologies, particularly Galileo and GMES. That's my field of research. Most of my work involves writing reports appended to requests for greater funding, so I have to know just as much about the way in which the EU Commission works as I do about satellite communications.

If the wave consists of anti-matter the Earth will be annihilated. I find this highly unlikely, however, as matter exists where the wave has already passed through. This is a good thing as no insurance policy I am aware of covers annihilation.

Re: Tsunami from outer space. Prepare yourself for unimaginable destruction.
dont let this be tooo deep for you

I can't light no more of your darkness
All my pictures seem to fade to black and white
I'm growing tired and time stands still before me
Frozen here on the ladder of my life

Too late to save myself from falling
I took a chance and changed your way of life
But you misread my meaning when I met you
Closed the door and left me blinded by the light

Don't let the sun go down on me
Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me

I can't find, oh the right romantic line
But see me once and see the way I feel
Don't discard me just because you think I mean you harm
But these cuts I have they need love to help them heal

I'm concerned because everyone I work with is concerned. At first, I thought it was just a matter of protecting satellites, but last week I learned that the emergency goes well beyond that.

Please note that I am myself not a technician or controller.

My own head of department told me about the crisis. Many at the ESA are still in denial.

Okay thanks for you answer. I wonder why they believe that the impact would be so strong that it will be dangerous for our life?
And why isn't ESA then warning the people?

It's not a "death cloud"; it's more like a band of energy.

How do you think this will manifest? Are you doing anything differently than you would have before you knew this? One area of the world hit harder than another? Thanks.

Are NASA or any other space agencies making any preparations for this, I mean stuff that might show up in the mainstream media as being unusual?

how do you intend to mitigate the worst effects on satellites.
