When asked to create a test that isn't racist, crickets. Blame is on institutional and social issues, poverty and racism. Wonder what the stats are in majority black or Hispanic countries where that can't be an issue. Do whites in Mexico or Puerto Rico score lower? Take an education course from a college and you'll see....its a joke, easy A. I was astonished at the utter stupidity of my fellow students in college...unreal. Education is the new communications degree...only néed a heartbeat. Go into any urban middle school and it's easy to see why....you won't get high performers in there teaching those animals....not enough money in world....the standards for teachers are lower than for retail now.

A sane white person capable of passing a literacy test probably has better options than hoping to become a 'teacher' in the NYC schools. The white people taking that test are know doubt bottom of the barrel.

The NEA is to blame because they make it almost impossible to fire incompetent teachers so they just get moved to another school. If teachers are incompetent, they cannot produce literate students.

This has been ongoing for awhile now. Years ago it was fire fighters, and police force, now, it's teachers.
