If those used MJ instead, maybe they wouldn't go that route? I'd be all for prescribing marijuana instead of opioids. The truth is I'm not even against legalizing marijuana. But there needs to be severe penalties then for those who misuse it and harm others. If you get high and kill someone in your car as far as I'm concerned it's no different then if you shot them. Same for alcohol. My real issue with this is neither side is being honest. Alcohol is a more destructive substance than marijuana. Marijuana is hardly harmless like many of its proponents claim though. It is psychologically addictive for many people. Just for once it would be nice to have an honest public discussion about it. Completely agree, but we need a better test that shows when you last used, not just that you have in the last month. |

It makes you feel more in tune with nature and the universe. It makes you want to go to the park or out in the country to feel part of this glorious world that we live in. You look at things differently, and yes, it is an escape from many of the negative realities in the world. More than and escape, it is a coping mechanism. Like anything, there are those who use it responsibly and those who don't. A small amount of pot will not impair someone so that they cannot drive. In fact, it will make they more aware of their surroundings and many proceed more cautiously. If it were legal, perhaps dosage could be better regulated? A small amount works just as good as a large amount. There needs to be more research and education on use which cannot and will not be done while it is illegal. You cannot overdose on pot. |
