May be put down. I think the only dog that doesn't come from wolves is a chihuahua it's bred down from foxes, or so I've heard not bothering to google it.

Duh!! The LEGAL point, if I were judge, would be: is this animal dangerous? Answer:No. Then release him back immediately. You're lucky the owners don't sue the shelter for false imprisonment!!!! Bebe

May be put down. [link to www.foxnews.com] So this is crazy, the family has had this dog for over 10 years and actually adopted him from the aurora,CO animal shelter. The dog jumped the fence and animal control took him. When the family went to get him back, they refused to release him saying he has wolf characteristics. They are also charging the family with multiple things, including owning a wild animal and allowing their animal to run free. If the DNA test shows he is a wolf breed, he could be put down. Quoting: Really!?!? Deplorable!! Good, wolves, pitbulls, etc, are unnecessary as pets and pose a unpredictable threat.
