Your MICROWAVES ARE spying on YOU | |

Had a large capacity GE microwave that 'field' zapped me (as contrasted to contact electrocution). The effect almost knocked me down. So I unplugged the protein splitter and set it aside. Out of curiosity grabbed a compass and placed it near the cyclotron, it spun around and around. Left it unplugged and checked again over the following days and the same spin was there. Put it in the garage noted the same behavior weeks later and then trashed it. Months later, purchased a smaller one. No spinning magnetic field in that one. TBH I don't use a microwave, but family and roomies do sometimes. |

It's no more harmful than a bright light bulb or the radio waves that are everywhere. Nothing to be afraid of. And no, it is not possible for a microwave oven to spy on you. No more than a light bulb could - there is NO recording device! If they wanted to spy on you, they would use your phone, computer, smart TV, etc. Things with build in recording devices. Not a microwave. Use your brian. |

Sorry you failed the genetic lottery and can't understand basic Science :( Are you saying microwaves aren't light? Hahahah they are BOTH electromagnetic radiation, differing only in frequency. ALL radio/radar waves are LIGHT. The reason a light can't cook the inside of food is because different frequencies have different penetration. And do you even know how radar works? You need a SOURCE and a DETECTOR. Microwaves are radar sources but they DO NOT have detectors in them. This is a fact, as thousands of people take them apart all the time, and we would know about it. A radar source without a detector can't track ANYTHING. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 71900468 Russia 03/17/2017 03:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The ONLY way for a microwave to "track" you is if there is a microwave frequency camera/detector built into it or into something else in the room. A regular camera won't work for this. Why would they bother building secret microwave cameras into things, and use microwaves to track you, when your phone and PC already have perfectly good visible light cameras? The simplest method is the one they use, and that is to use cameras in your devices. Not microwaves. |

The interior is a Faraday cage to stop microwaves from escaping the cavity. It would be useless on its own to spy on anyone. Like putting a black sheet of paper directly in front of a camera. |

I've often wondered if a microwave oven can 'suck' up microwaves when the energy potential across the magnetron thingy is reversed. Imagine if one could make a microwave vacuum. Might be the perfect anti-spy device. |
