The only decent tune they ever managed, was the one for that comics-for-grown-ups Batman movie (if I remember correctly). Who wrote it..? Or did it sound good because it was pretty much plagiarized off an old Led Zeppelin classic? Not sure what happened there, with Island Records and all. We The People had Bob Marley & The Wailers. Dignity, integrity and hope for all. And genuine, genius music, finding its way into commoner households all over the globe. Mr Marley died, and lo and behold: Bono and U2 rose to fame as the new Island Records flagship. And whaddayaknow - after a few years, you never saw the bloke without some or other smug-faced NWO hotshot on his elbow. Whatever true feeling and honesty his band managed to express in the first beginnings of their career quickly turned to unlistenable bullshit. (All consistent with the vibe of the bloody One Foundation and their 98 - 99% scam!) No, I don't like Bono. Wouldn't go see the bloody U2 if they paid me to. |
