If you had about 40,000 sitting in a bank, where would you invest it?

If it's a classic muscle car.....good choice.

if you dont already have a ROTH IRA start one,,choose a good mutual fund company like Vanguard and maybe one of their target year retirement funds like 2035 2040 2045..
invest the maximum 5,500 and get that started..
and a little physical silver wouldnt be a bad idea..

I would stock up on food, good clothing, fuel, ammo,etc. Money will be useless when you can't find anything to buy.

Pot stocks

Since the Economy will start booming, I'd invest in a diverse portfolio....

Every time we have a rate hike, banks make money....

So invest in Bank Stocks...

Trump will have a trillion dollar infrastructure program...

So invest in Building supplies like concrete and building companies...

Also diversify in metals like Copper. It is very cheap and you can by pounds of it...

Trump will invest billions in defense....

So invest in Defense stocks like Raytheon and others....

Then take 10% - 20% of your money and invest in Small Cap mutual fund. They should do well especially if the dollar strengthens....

I would find a website w/ some of the most unhinged people on the internet...then I would ask them for financial advice. Just kidding, but seriously buy guns, ammo, food, medicine, comms etc. and gird up a spot to keep it all along with a few well trained friends and stop listening to crazy people.

Why would you leave that much in a bank? My money would be locked away in a hidden safe at my house.

Ethereum was never meant to be a currency, but is the platform for smart contracts. It is my supposition that Ethereum Classic will end up being the currency of the Ethereum platform. The hard fork could easily have given the developers the means to push the one asset down (ETC). ETC is decentralized and immutable. They allow Ether to run its course allowing everyone to believe ETC is a dead end, while using the profits from Ether to push down and gobble up ETC. As Ethereum becomes more popular, Ethereum Classic tags along for the rise, and they are in the cat bird seat with two coins rapidly gaining market share. Hell if I was them, that is what I would have done.

as someone here said, what you should do depends on your age, etc..

but in the bank...........OYVAY!!!!!

the very LEAST you should do is put about 25% of it in a good, NO_LOAD mutual fund........(others charge fees; fees on no-loads are VERY minimal)......and spread it out over all the different types of stock funds; big company, mid-range companies, and small companies....


BUT EVEN BETTER......go online to different fund companies and take their 'asset allocation' quiz.....it'll tell you how best to invest based on your needs, attitude, etc.

go to Morningstar.com, AmericanCentury.com for starters, and take at least 3 of these little quizzes to get a good idea of what's best for your mindset.

anyway, anything's better than leaving it in the FUCKING bank!!!!
