So how do you do it? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73859353 Big guy I don't know who has been lying to you but if you are refrigerating the food afterwards in a sealed container, reheating any meat is fine, even microwaving all you need to do is keep it covered with the lid, not sealed when using the microwave just lay it on top of the container, it keeps in the moisture. As for what you've been told someone had to be pulling your leg, you won't get food poisoning if you cooked it right and stored it correctly. :Pirate Flag: 8-14-2018 The day Free Speech died in America |

Everyone says you should never reheat meat in microwave or you will get diarrhea, stomach cramps etc You can't be that naive and/or gullible....can you? What idiots told you that? Who is "everyone"? At worst it will dry out the chicken a bit....maybe. Nuke it in a microwave safe container and it's stays pretty decent. lightly wrap in damp paper towel and give the meat short bursts with the microwave. too many people want to just throw some naked piece of leftover meat in it and set it for way to long and walk away. short controlled bursts with something moist covering the food is the best way with MW reheating. |

He would cook a huge container of pork soup. When it was done eating, he would put the leftovers in the cabinet with no refrigeration! He would proceed to eat off of it for three or four days. He never got sick. No bugs showed up either. He used a lot of ginger and maybe some other herbs when he cooked it. Probably cured the meat. IDK. In the old days before refrigeration, meat was salt cured and hung up. We've lost that skill now that we have refrigerators. Yes, I did cure my Stage 4 cancer in two weeks when I was 48. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73859353 Well fuck no. I've never heard of such. I've eaten plenty of meals of all kinds that were in the frig for a week (or more) and I've never had the slightest problem. I have no idea where you got such a silly notion. Your frig does work properly, doesn't it? When I brine chicken or pork or turkey, I might leave it in the frig for a week BEFORE I even cook it.When you cook or reheat something you heat it enough to kill the germs. If it's week old chili from the frig, I just heat the fuck out of it to kill anything. Obviously most things do not culinarily improve with aging in the frig. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you. Slake Blake |

What idiots told you that? Who is "everyone"? At worst it will dry out the chicken a bit....maybe. Nuke it in a microwave safe container and it's stays pretty decent. Why use a microwave? Just defrost and heat the chicken gently in the sauce on the stovetop until piping hot (with the lid on). There's nothing a microwave does that conventional methods don't do rather better. This works well. Divide the chicken into two storage containers or even three. Save some out to wrap in plastic wrap as is (cooked) for sandwiches or soup. Put different sauces over the chicken. Pour mushroom or cream of chicken soup over one, pasta sauce over one, chicken broth and cooked rice over the other. You can put them in the freezer compartment for end of the week meals. Reheat as mentioned above. *** Good deeds bring rewards, bad actions bring troubles. That is a law of the universe. *** |

Munch on that next time you want to check you eggs in the grocery store then continue on touching everything else including yourself. |

This is easier to do if you split the food up into portion sized containers. When it is sufficiently cooled store in the fridge or freeze. Reheating pre-cooked meals is perfectly safe. Buy a food thermometer and make sure that, when you reheat the food is over 75 centigrade. ( I'm always sure if the temp is in the 80's or 90's. |

I like to actually COOK but see many that really have no idea what they're doing in front of a stove OR HEAVEN FORBID...an oven.
