Yemen is home to al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). This is, hands down, the most active all branches of the terror organization. This is the group that reaches targets half way around the world. This group also has particular talent in bomb making. All kinds of exotic stuff. I suspect that following the recent special operations raids, and aerial bombing, on ADAP compounds in Yemen, perhaps they are attempting to bring the fight to us. Hmmmmmmmmmm |

Don't know any details. Quoting: Tess. probly because Samsung's stuff is still exploding all over the place. I wonder if the exploding battery phenomenon gave someone a bad idea. Wouldn't be that hard to trigger a lithium battery failure and cause a fire/explosion like the videos. Slap a few laptops, tablets and phones together and you could get a pretty large, uncontrolled fire melting through the plane. Very weird order to say the least. |

You could put that out easy and quickly but if a laptop battery was actually C4 you could blow a hole in the side of the plane. |

DSLR cameras can hide dangerous stuff inside them, same with other digital cameras. It makes no sense. I came. I saw. I Concorde. There's much an easier way to puncture a plane body if you know your chemistry of oxides. Not telling any details, though, except that it involves liquid metal and a sharp key. |

Cellphones can be used as remote detonators to laptops in the cargo hold. morning Tess, A US Special forces team in Yemen found evidence of a new type of explosive device without the normal explosive signatures. It appears though that the device can only be manually triggered and is a bit bulky. The team were doing a raid against AQAP, whose lead bomb maker has spent years trying to create undetectable explosive devices. The team didn't come back with any specific threat info after the raid only knowledge of the research. That changed recently when further intelligence revealed that the device may be in play and smuggled on to a US bound flight either in the Middle East or Africa. Given the additional level of threat, these measures have been announced. This new device seems very real Morning Janey. Thanks for the info. It seems terrorists are stepping it up to the next level. Pretty soon people will stop flying abroad for holidays. |
