Jesus also asked Faith from his parents . "I had to do my Fathers bidding/will" when he went to the temple . Faith from his Mother that john was now her son. It has and always will be Faith.

It is by faith we learn to walk as Christ and do "greather things " than he . It starts with Faith . Then he builds you up to your true potential . By keeping Jesus Commandments we are to have Faith.

Go and read Galatians...the whole book...starting with chapter 1...but, you will find chapter 3 most enlightening. Paul asks the Galatians, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit by believing on Jesus or by the works of the law?" The answer is clear- you receive the Holy Spirit by believing in Jesus...

What is one of the things the Holy Spirit does...He marks people for salvation!!!

James was talking about the works OF THE HOLY SPIRIT NOT HUMANS! Look at the FRUIT of the Holy Spirit - HE is the one who produces the love, peace, patience, etc. NOT HUMANS! It is by believing in Jesus that the fruit of the Holy Spirit is shown - get it? The Holy Spirit is the One who complies with the law...it is NOT by human effort...we humans are just to believe that we are saved by grace through faith in what Jesus did on the cross....the Holy Spirit produces the results in our lives!

Holy Spirit means to Do the Will Of the Father in Heaven, nothing less.

A person can have faith and believe 100% that he should quit smoking, that this is good for him.

That doesn't mean he'll do it.

As James said "faith without works is dead".

You still need to employ your God given willpower to choose to do good and live by what Jesus taught, after believing in him.

READ YOUR BIBLE!!! Humans do NOT have the power to obey the law!!! That is PRECISELY why Jesus came to earth...to die...to fulfill the law and set us FREE from the burden of the law! James was telling the people to progress from just believing in Jesus...to letting the Holy Spirit work in their lives. James was NOT telling the people to try and fulfill the law by their own effort!

The law is summed up as loving God, and loving and helping people.

Jesus said in Mathews 25:31 - 46, that those who have eternal life are those who love and help others.
