No Choice Now!!! - Technology Microsoft forcing Windows 7 and 8.1 users to install Windows 10

"windows update" is a spyware server.

My windows installs have windows update disabled as of about 9 months ago when they started loading windows 7 and 8 with unnecessary "telemetry" updates.

Fuck Microsoft, their strong arm tactics and their piece of shit Windows 10. They have betrayed and sold out their loyal customers of the last 30 years.

With Valve making huuuge ingress into the world of Linux, and with Microsofts increasingly jack booted tactics, its only a matter of time before a majority of serious gamers move over, this shifting the entire industry.

Will be a glorious day.

Thank god my 4790k is beefy enough to warrant me not planning on upgrading ANYTIME soon. So at least I have that going for me.

There's always a choice.

It's SERIOUSLY lacking on drivers. There is no hope for that OS. Unless they can get some BIG $$ backing it, it will remain on the sidelines, wishing it could do as well as Linux or windows.

The host file is absolutely useless in win10.

Yep. Still running XP Pro SP3 and it works fast and reliably.

Win 10 is one giant spyware program that saves and reports every keyboard entry, takes snapshots of what is on your screen and sends it to Microsoft,, permits the mic and camera to be remotely activated, and so much more.

Yup Windows 7 Professional here and I've never run a single update.

I have 4 computers that I installed Win 7 Ultimate on years ago and immediately disabled updates on all of them right after installing the OS.

To this day they all work just fine.

They can't force me to upgrade shit, windows 7 until this PC dies.

I have suspected that they hard coded their server addresses and encrypted them somewhere... so I can see where you are coming from with that statement, but it isn't completely useless as you suggest. The host file may possibly ignore MS and other nefarious parties that have been given access by design. The host file function works for me, but then again the version of win10 im using has been heavily modified so maybe that has something to do with it.

Same here. My computer is 7 years old though, so I'll have to do something else when I get a new one.

If any of you really must use windows 10 and wish to possibly negate some of the risk, I suggest trying a program called ntlite (or nlite for older versions of windows), this program will assist you in completely overhauling your windows install medium.
