Why is it when something *cool* or *unique* goes mainstream it gets culturally ruined?

Why is it when something cool or niche goes mainstream it works for a little while really well then stupid changes makes it more and more unusable for people who want to do more then just be a robot?

I dread the words *mainstream* now much like the PC industry is ruined where you are pretty much doing what you can on a smartphone.

No more independence no more doing things offline. No real independent companies anymore that doesn't require being online spied on.

Youtube was good once when it was before the Google days and since 2010 GOogle is a melting pot with nothing but fake channels and crappy quality videos mixed with good ones.

Nobody can do playlist anymore so that means I am not going to shuffle thru 500 of your videos to find a certain genre.
