That the # of people working are contributing more than the people not working are taking in benefits and gov't handouts. Net positive tax revenue may not be as large as you immediately think if it's even positive at all. Second, you are assuming that there will be jobs for them and without them there won't be jobs. The fact is, supply/demand will always determine this factor. If there is demand for all of those jobs and we need those people here, then there will be legal ways for them to come. If there isn't demand for all of them to have jobs then we won't be getting much tax revenue from them...in fact, we would be net negative if having to provide benefits to a non-working population (see point #1). So you can't immediately just assume that everyone will enter the workforce as additive to what will exist in the future. |

But the truth is that Walking Mexican immigrants only make up for a percentage of illegal immigrants. In fact most immigrants that become illegal had applied for a visa of some sort and overstayed their visa.
