The record solar wind speed was recorded in August 1972 at over 2000 km/s.

Keep in mind that this month we had the longest streak of days without sunspots on the Sun since the last solar minimum in 2008. We're heading deep into solar minimum, most of the geomagnetic field posts on GLP in recent weeks have been from people who don't know what they are talking about.
