Re: 31,743 BYTES FREE - COMMODORE COMPUTER VERY OLD-SCHOOL
I just bought a new-in-box TI 99/4A off of eBay, the first computer I owned, along with another purchase of the Peripheral Expansion Box, and two other consoles.

One of my biggest failures in life was selling my original machine, along with all my first programs. I wrote some amazing things as a 13 year old kid (now, going on 48!)

Most of the people I knew from those days went on to be business owners, myself included.

As an aside, it is amazing what people are doing with their TI's, and how different eras of technology are being merged together with new devices and such.

'Looking forward to playing around with some of these things, and, perhaps, a few modern-day enhancements.

I love doing same!
I love old technology!
Started collecting old machines at 4 years old, 50's TV sets the neighborhood would throw out, etcetera.
Old tech RULES!
It makes life a wonderful world!

Good luck with your new/old familiar acquisition!

There is a guy that wrote his own operating system and he used the C64 OS as the basic template, so to speak. There are a few differences... chuckle

too cool

in these scary times (once again) we are IN, it's good to just turn off and turn on to old things of comfort and their modern day equivalents
 Quoting: Truth Forever

A lot of people make fun of that guy, but what he did to design his own operating system, file system, programming language, and applications is nothing short of impressive.

There's one old project called "Big Mess O' Wires" where a guy basically built his own computer as well...mostly out of just wire wraps!

Re: 31,743 BYTES FREE - COMMODORE COMPUTER VERY OLD-SCHOOL
I mentioned it a whiles back, but you guys know that you can emulate the C64? Yeah?

Quite a few out there, and tonnes of roms to dl.

I prefer to have them on my Wii, and you still need to pull up the keyboard to load stuff, all be it a virtual blue screen.

Was playing Jumpman Jnr just a minute ago. I still love Gateway to Apshai, regardless of how bad the graphics and monsters are.

Same goes for Defender of the Crown. But annoyingly, the emulator is true to form, and half way through, you have to 'flip the disc' to load the rest of the program!
(never did work out how to joust....)

Actually it would fail with a syntax error at 10 and therefore never make it to 20 so it would just fail and not run.
