Anonymous Coward User ID: 72537452 United States 04/04/2017 09:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This paragraph is on ACA Wikipedia: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74609813 From 2017 onwards, states can apply for a "waiver for state innovation" that allows them to conduct experiments that meet certain criteria.[108] To obtain a waiver, a state must pass legislation setting up an alternative health system that provides insurance at least as comprehensive and as affordable as ACA, covers at least as many residents and does not increase the federal deficit.[109] Such states can exempt states from some of ACA's central requirements, including the individual and employer mandates and the provision of an insurance exchange.[110] The state would receive compensation equal to the aggregate amount of any federal subsidies and tax credits for which its residents and employers would have been eligible under ACA plan, if they cannot be paid out due to the structure of the state plan.[108] The revised deal as presented by Pence had two key components that the government wants to vote on by Friday: 1. Granting a waver to States from some, if not all, Obamacare insurance rules including the minimum benefits, the amount of medical expenses that insurers have to cover Why would Trump make they are changing the ACA to include this waiver, when it's already in the original ACA???????????.? My guess is States would have to provide insurance at least as comprehensive as the ACA under the current plan. And under Pence's plan States wouldn't have the mandate to cover everything (i.e. contraception). |
