Why are Teachers paid so poorly? | |

And we have master's degrees that cost us about $200,000. I'll pay off my degree, but I won't use it to teach your children well. I'll give the High School minimum wage education that I'm paid; that you think is adequate. Think a ditto a day. No hands on because that requires a lot of thought from a master teacher. Nope you get the High School graduate ditto-type of teaching. Hope a minimum wage education is adequate for your children, but I don't bust my ass for nothing anymore. My daughter-in-law has been teaching 3rd grade for a couple of years in Houston, in a not so affluent area. The kids show up to school with literally almost nothing except their clothes. Most of the school supplies have to be paid for by the teachers out of their salaries. The get a tax credit at the end of the year so they have to keep track of it and do the paperwork. What a pain in the ass for a job requiring a masters, a teaching certificate, work in shitty areas until there is an opening in a better district, and pay for the little snotbuckets school supplies too? On a low-end salary as well. You can see the poor future of our country when you realize how teachers, and thereby students, are treated in this country. It can't end well, except for TPTB who want dumber, more uneducated masses of slaves. |
