Thus, the Second Commandment, "You shall have no other gods," doesn't seem applicable in modern society. But the opposite is true. We have more false gods than ever -- art, education, fame, money, to name just a few. Over the past century the worship of false gods has led to massive evil; Communism and Nazism are just two examples. On a personal level, the worship of false gods leads to unhappiness. |

Dennis Prager explains that without this commandment, the following nine mean little. With it, the Ten Commandments becomes world-changing. LOL you don't know much about the origins of your own religion. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 38143327 It is one of the original Gods of Judaism. The Judes made the golden calf after they were given the commandments. So what? What is your point? Why did they make a golden calf is the question you should be asking, who is the golden calf? The answer is El, the god of the Canaanites and the god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The origins of Judaism lie in the Bronze Age polytheistic Ancient Semitic religions, specifically the Canaanite religion. |

No two copies of any manuscript are the same, so if God inspired the bible, why didn't he preserve it? and why can't the authors agree on anything? |
