Once again, I lost a "pet"
Ok, it's my turn to post a dead pet thread. Although it wasn't my cat, it was the housekeeper's daughter's cat named Deago, AKA Shitty Cat, AKA Stupid, AKA Harry (hairy).

We came home from a bowling tournament yesterday and there he was behind the house in the park, squished. He didn't make it more than a few feet with blood coming from his mouth...

Deiago was a good neighborhood mouser...he would come and go as he pleased, even if it meant waking me up at 5:00 AM to be let outside as he would never make a mess in the house.

Goodbye Harry

Re: Once again, I lost a "pet"
Dear Brief,

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I never had much faith in leaders. I am willing to be charged with almost anything, rather than to be charged with being a leader. I am suspicious of leaders, and especially of intellectual variety. Give me the rank and rifle every day in the week. If you go to the city of Washington, and you examine the pages of The Congressional Directory, you will find that almost all of those corporation lawyers, and cowardly politicians, members of congress, and mis-representatives of the masses --you will find that almost all of them claim , in glowing terms, that they have risen from the ranks to places of eminence and distinction. I am very glad I cannot make that claim for myself. I would be ashamed to admit I had risen from the ranks. When I rise it will be WITH the ranks, and not from the ranks.~ Eugene V. Debs

Whatever.

Lost my cat on April 1.

17 years old got him when he was 6 months old.

No squishing.

He was sick for a few years then went into siezures.

It sucks.
