Tomato status: OUT, baby!

We use Rackspace Colocation for hosting. Our bill is ~100k/year but have had 99.99997% uptime over the past several years.

1,400 visitors is a TON. Impressive.

Load time seems pretty good right now...post back if it slows/goes down again. I can run some tests to narrow down who to blame.

I hate to say this but I have to go to work, but keep us updated on any other sites that go down. I do know some folks said GLP was down earlier. Could be that tons of folks are crashing sites where there is rumors of war at the moment.

Yeah, that sort of thought tweaked my Doom-Meter when the ISP had no answers whatsoever. The tech person didn't seem evasive, really, just clueless.

I did call. They had no answers. I assume that if I 'demanded' answers, they still would have none. Perhaps if the UN could draft a harsh-language script for me?

As far as responsive, 5 years of 100% up-time is not bad, and they seem to have resolved this issue within an hour or so.

The rule of thumb is that for every 9 you want to add to your uptime % (ie. 99.99% vs. 99.999%), you add a 0 to your budget.
