I think for the most part drugs are pure evil.

Look at child abuse or any abuse actually.

I think we need to better define the term for 'drug' and better address overindulgence. Plus, way more people are killed by pharmaceuticals than recreational ones.

Objectively, the answer is no. Drugs cannot be spiritual.

Subjectively, if one is already highly spiritual, certain drugs can perpetuate that.

Marijuana,DMT,Ect. natural plants are not drugs....drugs are what you get from the doctor (chemicals).......natural enhancers when consumed take you to a higher vibration.....
that,s why we call it getting high

Beware though...these enhancers are amplifiers and if you have alot of negative beliefs you could become paranoid....if you become paranoid you now know that you have some negative beliefs to transform to positive......

positive beliefs are magnified also....i call it happy smoke....when all of your beliefs are positive then you wont need the enhancers anymore

Yes, but wrong spirit. The Greek word for witchcraft is pharmakeia, from which we get the word Pharmacy. It's spiritual all right, but will destroy you in the end.

So mixing drugs with meditation?
That is wrong on so many levels.

Read some Joseph Campbell. He addresses the entirety of human spirituality throughout recorded history, and drugs have always played a role in nearly every culture.

He makes the argument that drugs should ONLY be taken when on a spiritual quest. Once drugs are taken solely as a recreational escape, they loose their meaning and usefulness. Your spirit is floating free, without direction. Hence the occurrence of "bad trips" and addiction.

Of course they can allow spirits in your body. Even the Bible warns against using drugs because they will let spirits in that seek to control you. HINT: these aren't good spirits.

Many drugs (mostly the psychedelics) raise your personal energy and with that you experience things.
That is why we all experience the same things when energy rises.
But as soon as the trip is over, energylevels are what it was before and you are back in your mundane boring life where it was fantastic wonderland before.

So people knowing this went to India to enter Ashrams to learn to raise this energy by themselves and keep it high to endure prolonged states of the same where psychedelics bring you to.

In the end you will get it, if you are a great observer that some drugs (shrooms especially) raise the kundalini to tremendous hights and you will start to notice things, like entering your dreamworld with your waking consciousness still with you.
You then know that eastern practices are all based around raising kundalini and when kundalini rises in enough quantities it opens your third eye fully and you will see the world very different.

Been there, done it all and now go and enjoy and enlighten yourself but beware, it is outright scary sometimes when you are not prepared and thrown in full force.
Some go mad.

I don't know if drugs can be spiritual or not, but my friend Lisa has a daughter who was addicted for several years to xanex. And she swore that when her daughter was on it and came around her, she could sense the presence of something demonic and deceptive "attached" to her.
