Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74686499 No pity for businesses that rely on slavery. Why did the massive hikes in wages at manufacturing jobs not close any factories? Why did the minimum wage fail to close any businesses in 1970? Increases for inflation, (true inflation), of education, medicine, housing, energy, and food would have put the minimum wage at closer to $20.00 per hour today. If you include increases in productivity, it should be closer to $30.00 or $40.00 per hour today.
