Walmart tells their new employees how to apply for welfare, because their wages are so low that they qualify for it.
That says all you need to know. Taxpayers are subsidizing the massive profits of multi-billion dollar corporations.
Minimum wage should be exactly what it was during our biggest economic boom HISTORICALLY, adjusted for inflation. And it should AUTOMATICALLY change each year to adjust for the latest inflation rates, so it's not insanely low (or high) for months or years or decades while our politicians argue whether or not it should change.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72664315 Found the guy who failed math. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69670014 [ link to www.forbes.com (secure)] Walmart workers cost taxpayers $6.2 BILLION in welfare benefits because they aren't being paid a living wage. If your solution to that is "cut welfare benefits," then either you ain't so good at math yourself, or you want the economy to collapse.
