I'm getting sanitary line water in my water line--long story.

Can anyone recommend a filter for this situation?

5-7 stage reverse osmosis system. last stages should be activated carbon.

if the waste from your toilet is mixing with pressurised water line so not risk any filtration.

isolate and test tap water make repairs as necessary

yes lifestraw is convenient but ALEXAPURE filters are also options..

with R,O. TECH.

ro water has no mineral or vitamin content though

Yup an RO unit is the way to go. You have a 3 gal tank for under the sink but nothing is stopping you from hooking up a 5 or 10 gallon tank in the garage for reserve capacity. You can even remove fluoride with an additional inline filter. Take the time to learn how to do the install it's honestly the only way to go.

Re: water filter recommendation
Pur filters will connect to your faucet.

I like the big Berkey!

It holds almost 2 gallons...so it's slow filtration isn't much of a problem.

(the better a filter works the slower it will be...it's just a law of nature).

I use a brita filter then pour that into an aqua gear filter. Water tastes great and there's no reverse osmosis so it keeps all the minerals in the water. It's more convenient size wise with two filters but I'm sure Berkley filters are just as good if not better than my method.

Re: water filter recommendation
One of the biggest conspiracies out there is that distilled water is bad for you. It's the best water for you. I've been drinking it exclusively for over 5 years. My blood work is perfect. Buy a distiller from Amazon and change your life. Research it. Look up Noman Walker or Dr Braggs or Andrew Norton Weber. They are all experts on the subject. Andrew Norton Weber has YouTube videos on it.

I really like the Berkey filtration products. I have the Berkey light with fluoride filters.

I also highly recommend the Clearly Filtered pitcher. It removes a very high percentage of fluoride, as well as chromium-6 and other nasty things.

Re: water filter recommendation
It's not possible.
Sewer line is a drain, supply line is under pressure.
Even if they were somehow connected, the positive pressure would keep the contaminants out, because it would be leaking INTO the sewer, not the tap.

Obvious troll.

Yeah, I've got the pocket in my bag. I bring it out and use it every now and again. The only possible downfall is that denting that canister can cause the filter to shatter. I don't know how rugged it is, but it is built well and is supposed to purify enough water to get me through until I find a better source of water.
