just caught this thread Thread: I feel bad for millennials, they don't have a chance the pity approach will work for only so long. the fact is Millennials got screwed by the very person who wrote that post, but they haven't accepted it. THEIR FUTURE WAS STOLEN IT DIDNT JUST EVAPORATE.
AND THEY WILL EVENTUALLY TAKE IT BACK. Im in Florida all I see around me are these old people, regular folks, living it up like it's 1999. Since when does becoming a senior citizen entitle one to a 20 year vacation from reality? it's coming boomers.... soon.
They did not have cell phones, computers and all the electronic devices that Millennials blow their money on.
They did without and scrimped and saved. Life was just as hard for them then as it is today for the Millennials.
Matter of fact I know many "Millennials" who chose to prioritize, save and not blow their money who have nice homes, cars and live a good life and are able to invest in their future by saving. They do not have the newest cell phone, or car or game or computer.
I am sick and tired of you crybabies. Sassy Granny you are full of shit and this is coming from an X'r. I am not saying that your generation didn't work because it did. But by the time generation X and the Millennials came on the scene the same opportunities were no longer around that your generation used to build wealth. For example where are all the high paying manufacturing jobs that your generation enjoyed? Oh that's right they were shipped overseas during the Clinton years. Or how bout the ability for a married man to support his family with a decent wage with just a high school education. This was possible during your generation but today it is not. Or how bout going to your average burger joint and getting a cheeseburger with fries and a coca cola for under 50 cents. Today for the same meal we are spending roughly 7 to 8 dollars. So no the same opportunities that you enjoyed are no longer here since all of the high paying jobs are gone, the dollar has gone to shit and the damn Mexicans are taking whats left of the unskilled jobs. You have a great many, truly valid points but I don't get why the anger is directed at the "baby boomers" & not the heads of big business(past & present), politicians, the criminal International banking cabal & the rest of TPTB. The "you allowed it to happen" mantra is the equivalent to blaming, what would it he now? Gen X'ers? for the freedoms we lost following 9/11. I just don't get it, unless it's just being able to have a present & tangible subject to vent your entirely appropriate frustration & anger.
