We picked strawberries, sold eggs, corn and beans we raised to save money. We drank milk from the milk cows and lived on the canned food from the garden, ate some of the chickens, had meat from the beef cow. We made sausage to sell from Porky the funny pig we raised to kill to eat. Great sausage and bacon by the way. We did the same with other pigs too but I never named them again not after I found myself eating Porky. LOL Oh and you will be happy to hear there was a school bus we rode to school, but it took an hour both ways. By the way, my grandparents, who we lived with, did not have electricity til 1948.
