Re: Wake up after an EMP attack....What do you do first?
It's going to be obvious the EMP attack will be a false flag/hoax because the only thing that won't work will be:

-Anything connected to Power Grid
-Anything connected to Wifi

Everything else, like battery operated electronics older cars, etc. will still work.

They are basically going to light a Giant Firework and turn the grid off manually, claiming an EMP attack.

It's all Fake.

No alarms went off, nothing beeped because everything is fried. It's spring so the temperature change didn't wake you. Just silence. No electricity no cars working, no noise at all. Freaky thought! What would you do first? Ride bike to grocery store? See if neighbors are up?

I don't know but I think the natural early risers would an hour or two head start before chaos.....

Mount the 4-point barbed wire on the INSIDE of every door and window. Slow up intrusions enough to allow reloads.

I figured the first response would be "go back to sleep since I'm takin the day off"

Do toilets work when the grid is down?
 Quoting: Evolution16

Nope...... And your sewer will begin to back up in your house through the toilets so you better have a plan to close the drains under the toilet!

You can google/youtube this and I highly recommend that you do and have the necessary parts that you can get from home depot for a few dollars!

Re: Wake up after an EMP attack....What do you do first?
Water water water is a good idea. I've got a gas generator and a car battery style generator that can be recharged from solar, but my understanding is solar panels would be fried too, and they are hard to EMP proof due to the size. Most emp bags boxes end up being smaller than most solar panels.

I know the fridge and freezer would last 2-8 days depending on the quality (sub-zero claims 8 days but I don't have one)

I would consider myself generally being prepared, I just really don't know what I would do first - how to prioritize

Keep up the input and comedy - I think everyone has a preps list, maybe this will help us make an actions list

Turn on the computer and get updated at GLP, go the coffeemaker and have a cup, no milk! dam!, jump in my Tesla and ride down to deli and use a debit card to pay for it, turn off burglar alarm and turn on AC to cool down and watch news on my 500" HDTV, call boss on cellphone to call out sick then vacuum the pool and set thermostat to 75 degrees.

1. Laugh my ass off.
2. Siphon the tanks at the corner gas station before anybody wakes up.
3.Water and food run. Ice and coolers for the short term.
4. If time left, hit Bass Pro and top off essentials.
5. Laugh some more and wait for the neighborhood to wake up.
6. cry...then laugh it off again.
7. smoke a joint on the roof and wait...
