Anonymous Coward User ID: 5192217 United States 04/21/2017 09:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | EMP is a myth. If a legitimate one happened, and the government wanted the lights back on, an automatic relay would restore power in 3 seconds. Therefore, I'd start the Mister Coffee and enjoy the usual morning brew. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74729667 Wiring is the REQUIRED antenna to produce the signal strength enough to generate the over-voltage potential, which may or may not cause the over-current breakdown. If there is not enough wire length or circuit board foil length, there will not be enough electromagnetic radiation pickup to cause damage. Your watch and cell phone will be fine. Big stuff has been hardened years ago. Alluminium clouds from chemictrails act like a huge antenna. Even vulcanic ashes act like an antenna. Blowing the yellowston and then using Emp bombs will work a charm. Under the Etna wifi and others radionetworks works at extended distances due to the metal particles in the vulcanic ashes. Like a huge antenna You never took any science class seriously did you? You are so high. |

Roll out of bed, scratch my nuts on the way to the pisser, brew a pot of Joe on the (propane) stove, holster .45, pray morning prayers while I enjoy God's gifts of nature & sunrise from the back porch isolated in the hills of Appalachia. Life is good. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 73306227 Canada 04/21/2017 12:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I probably wouldn't notice for at least an hour. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74729500 I wake up, without an alarm, before dawn every day. I move through the house with the lights off, so everyone else stays asleep. The dogs follow me like shadows and we head outside, me to check out the fading stars and to make sure the dogs don't decide to play with a skunk or a pack of raccoons, and them to do their thing. When we all get back inside, I light the gas stove and throw on a kettle for tea, to enjoy out on the porch, whatever the weather. I enjoy the velvet feel of night slipping into day. There is a moment every morning when you hear and sense the community around you wake up, almost as a group. And it seems like the seconds leading up to that belong to just you, because you are the only crazy-assed human up and out at that time, watching the world roll over on its belly. Yeah, I wouldn't start to get suspicious until the sky started to turn grey and an alarm did not go off inside, waking someone up. No biggie, though... Three weeks without power after Sandy in freezing temps, plus a nor'easter, was a good dry run for an EMP. Half my neighborhood was washed away and we did fine. If you don't have a wood stove, get one. They are key to survival. Seriously. Or build an indoor rocket stove. Kerosine lanterns are also very efficient fuel-wise, although camping lanterns throw a lot more light. Not sure if the latter would be affected. Candles are worthless in terms of casting usable light...you'd have to have more candles than the Vatican to properly light a room. I found him! SOLAR PANELS are not generally Hemp sensitive The charge controllers and associated inverters are at risk especially if assembled into a grid. You can minimize induction by disconnecting the main breaker which may or may be enough to keep grid induction depending but I put in a large industrial manual transfer/disconnect switch to run my antique diesel geney and keep off grid. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74729608 Any time I have a power outage I look at my battery operated clock...if it wasn't ticking I would turn on my battery operated radio. If that wasn't working I would go try to start my truck...if it didn't start I would know for sure. Then I would fill EVERYTHING with water (before the water tower runs dry). Pot, pans, pitchers, barrels, garbage cans, bath tub, indoors, outdoors, if it can hold WATER it's getting filled! Exactly what I thought to do first! |

We have been bombarded with it for so long and in ever increasing amounts, many will not be able to cope. It would like suddenly being with out a drug fix. Quoting: Bullwinkle 74587892 Survival is a very strong feeling so i think the first shock and inaction will go fast for most of the people. I guess most will try to find out what happened and how bad the situation is, so a good preper must use this time to add to his stock -mostly medicine and food/drink supplies- or pack and leave at once to a place he has already chosen.
