How Many Times Would You Have Died Without Modern Medicine?
Before penicillin the average life expectancy was around 35-40 years, that's when most people's teeth started to rot and caused a deadly infection.

Anytime you have had an infection you could not shake, a bad injury, or situation that required the ER, chances are, 300 years ago it would have killed you.

I think it's about a dozen times in my life, from the croop when I was 10 months old, shattering my right elbow in 1994, and the last one was a bad sinus infection.

Can ear infections kill you if left untreated? I've had a few of those as a kid. I've dislocated my knee cap three times and have schizophrenia so I would be an insane cripple. I probably would've died of starvation 15 years ago.

Not so many... a few. People that lived into their 50s and 60s were thought to be wise. It had a lot to do with personal hygiene I'm sure. A man that kept his teeth clean probably lived much longer than a man who did not.

Same here with the ear infection, only time I've ever recieved medical attention for something that would have not gone away on it's own without major problems.

And according to the internets, worst case scenario would have been some hearing loss. So I guess I would have made it up till this point.

Agressive stage 3 melanoma, aged 20. Breast cancer rare agressive tumor stage 2b age38. Multiple kidney stones starting at age 35. One grapefruit size dermoid tumor twisting off my ovary while I was expecting my first child age 26. I can't count how many times I would have been a goner without modern medicine. My body likes to grow stuff that tries to kill me! Haha!

100,000 Americans Die Each Year from Prescription Drugs

Prescription drugs taken as directed kill 100,000 Americans a year. That's one person every five minutes. How did we get here?

My oldest and I would've died during childbirth, so I guess I have modern medicine to thank for not only him but my other two kids as well. So would that count as one time or three times?

i would've had to have a few teeth pulled if i hadn't been able to repair the damage to the outside of my tooth.

my grandmother might have still been alive tho if the hospital hadn't given her the wrong blood causing her kidneys to fail.

It's only been known since 1886. We've known about cancer since before Christ. Very suspicious indeed.
