The separation of state and the Judiciary is a foundation of Western democracy.

The Judiciary was something that Hillary was blamed for politicising and which helped her avoid prosecution.

Trump can only pardon Assange, he cannot order the prosecution or stop the prosecution of Assange.

It may or may not be Trump's doing, but he has not said one word against arrest and prosecution of one of our greatest friends, Assange. Snowdon, too, whom Trump said ought to be tried for treason.

Democracy is working just fine when you can come up with new charges to stop Juilian running in the election because it will show the government that we are not buying there bullshit when he get lots of votes

If they won't allow fair elections then they will guarantee a bloody revoloution and to be honest i think the latter is the better option.

I think Trump is a GLPer and is tired of Assange's promises so he's calling BS to get Assange to show his hand. In poker, this is the ultimate Check/Raise against the establishment. Its how I would play my hand.

If Trump wants to prosecute anyone in the deep state for leaking info against him, he needs to prosecute Assange, otherwise risk looking like a hypocrite.

This opens the door for Trump to start collecting heads who moved against him. If he moved against them and their leaking while letting Assange remain free, it weakens his position.
