Should I live in my car?

Thats a good idea for someone young.
But if you have the sprit to do it then do it.

What kind of car you got?

Believe it or not, a lot of people are taking this route. Especially if they have a van.

Before you decide, go to Youtube and check out videos on the subject. There are tons of them.

More and more people are choosing to get the hell out of the system and just live as a nomad. I'm thinking of doing it myself and I'm damn near 60. It sounds to me like it would be fun.

Lot's of videos on how to live the lifestyle, how to make your vehicle into a home, how to cook, bath, be safe etc etc...

Check out the videos though before you make the decision. A lot of problems also come with the lifestyle.

Probably not too bad if you can use the gym a lot to stretch and bathe.

I'd say go for it but research it first to see what the drawbacks are to the situation. I'm going to be doing the same from next week and into the foreseeable future as my employment is now gone and it is highly doubtful I'll be able to find further employment.

I'm hoping to continue my work through the use of various WiFI spots and my laptop.

With no options you can do it. I can testify for thst. But it will bring you worry, stress, depression, fear, and shame...nothing short of misery.

trade your car for a converison van, check out the vids on youtube of people living in them. a lot better than a car

Does anybody here from the UK live like this? If so, how does parking work?

It's kinda expensive to rent a room and I can't see myself sharing a house with strangers. Should I live in my car and use the gym to bathe? I live in a warm area near the beach. I'm a disabled vet so I don't have to worry about money.

At first it might seem like a good idea; but even as an wage slave, the extra fifty hours each month you would have to do an wage-slave job would be worth it to have your own space instead of dealing with all of the pain in the ass of living out of a car.

Plus when you factor in the cost of the gym and/or storage-unit, etc., plus the extra time spent doing the various things that take more time due to not having the convenience of your own space....

We seriously looked into this, as we can't afford to live any longer, we looked into narrowboats but the CRT fees are as high as council tax, you have to keep moving unless you have a private berth or pay marina fees, then theirs fuel costs and its damp. With a road vehicle parking is an issue because you can't park overnight in most car parks, and you will get shifted on a road side. Fuel is extortionate, the other problem we found when we looked into it is that your driving licence must by law have your current address as must your registration docs, or you cant renew the road tax. You cant get insurance, and what do you do if it fails its mot. This is the reason most of the gypsies have no insurance or tax, except that they have the advantage of playing the race card over everyone else, and they know their rights as ethinic minorities, which the rest of us don't have. Unless you have money to buy a piece of land to keep your vehicle on (which you will still pay council tax for), or have money to pay for site fees, then its just not workable in the UK

So basically all the socialist areas want you to live in a tent since that's the most "eco-friendly"?

Yet none of this applies if you are a Pikey/Gypo. There was a load of them living on a pay and display car park near me recently. Paid fuck all and the council and police did fuck all. So yeah, become a pikey. problem solved

I had to sleep in my f250 for a few weeks...everything is easy except you will find it hard to layout properly. It's a great idea but if you can trade for a conversion van, do it...you won't last too long in your present vehicle. It will take its toll on your back, neck and legs very quickly. Everything else is a walk in the park.

it's hard to get good meals in a car, you cant really cook or prep very well if you know what i mean since theres no sink or running water etc

my uncle does it, and it's probably part of the reason he is having heart problems at 60, poor diet.

also, you kinda need a van to stretch out/haul shit around, it hurts the gas mileage, but i dont know how comfortable it would be in a sedan

No. Save up for an RV or a trailer and live in that.

It's all in how you do it.. I have been nomadic for some time. I bought I 1987 Toyota motorhome, you can find them for around 6,000, i use it as both my home and my daily driver, I fixed it up really nice, it's cheap to keep and repair and I'm loving life, living under my means and if I don't like my neighbors I move. As you prosper, you can upgrade with a solar panel, little generator, etc..
With the tiny house movement mentality , you'll actually be hip which ain't to bad.
