Men rely more on the right side of the brain. In autism, the right side of the brain is far too dominant (either the left side is too weak or the right side too strong) and that's why autism shows more clearly in boys and men.

There's some truth to this, but it's not so much about the mtDNA. While X and Y cells both have it, mtDNA in humans is near-identical mother to child. Meaning the mtDNA a woman passes comes entirely from her mother (not her father). The mtDNA in her father's X cell doesn't contribute to her mtDNA, even when the two X cells from both parents interact.

mtDNA is separate from the base chromosomes. The two chromosomal X cells a woman inherits are not necessarily identical to her mother's and her father's, respectively, and both X cells contain mixed DNA from both parents. The mtDNA, however, is identical to her mother's and will be passed on identically to her children (both male and female).
