Nice divide and conquer thread, OP. This is literally a non issue that you have made into one. We should be united in the fight against TPTB, not squabbling over knowing geography or not.

you're correct, but you do realize this is a 100% trolling thread, right?

nobody actually cares about this topic... other than europeans

As well your country should. They died, many horrible deaths, to help boot the nazis creeps from your soil.

Humility, a word which denotes the quality or condition of being humble; modest opinion or estimate of one's own importance. Seemingly an alien concept to the vast majority of folk from the US. If it were to be practised, then perhaps the world would be a far better place.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74731874

Do you really have a grasp on how ofter we have saved the Frenchie butts in the less than 250 years of our existence/

Most recently, Vietman. Yep, Vietnam was a mess created by the French, that our dumbass leaders got us involved in as a result.
 Quoting: Lady Jane Smith

Where did I say anything to suggest anything to the contrary? You seriously disappoint me LJS. I was originally of the opinion that you were more level headed and of balanced nature. How I was mistaken. It may not be apparent, but I have refrained from using insulting terms. I find doing so inevitably results in the kind of rancour which is apparent in this thread now.
It is disturbing that the vast majority of US posters here have such a negative view of us Europeans.

As an American, let me say how embarrassing this thread is.

1 star.

There exists an all-too pervasive subset of American culture which takes pride in its own ignorance. OP and his supporters represent it perfectly. Any time someone posts a message on this forum asking why everyone hates Americans, this thread should serve as the main reply.

How noble to renounce learning and understanding, OP! Is the grey matter so sparse in your minuscule cranium that you can only fit so much, and once it reaches its capacity, that's it? So much to learn about U.S. geography that you've reached your limit? Not another brain cell to spare?

Is this how our founding fathers, all learned men, thought about things?

I'm a conservative. I voted for Trump. I loathe all liberals, lefties, commies and globalists. I care about conservation but I understand anthropogenic climate change for the fraud that it is. I believe segregation should be a choice that starts at local communities because people should have the right not to live near others who are proven to be more violent and less productive. I support the Second Amendment. I support a complete ban of Islam in all western nations and don't believe it conflicts with the First Amendment because Islam is, after all, a violent and seditious political system, not a religion per se. I support the Natural Born Citizen clause of the US Constitution and as such believe that our last president was actually an illegal usurper named Barry. As you can see, I'm quite right-wing. I'm not some limp-wristed Europhile with a hipster beard and a Starbucks latte by my side. But I understand that in order to defeat the diabolical forces arrayed against us in this world, we need knowledge, understanding, education, a fascination with history and the history of great men and nations. Pride in our own ignorance is precisely what TPTB want.

Congratulations, OP. You're playing right into their hands. Now go munch on some hot dogs and apple pie, wave your flag, start hyping yourself for the NFL draft and spend a fortune at Walmart. That's all it really means to be an American, right?

It's funny isn't it.. most of the Americans don't even know their own history. They're telling other nationalities that the US is theirs while they took it from the American Indians in the first place. besides that. New York was once a Dutch colony, if we didn't trade it with the English for Suriname, everyone would have spoke Dutch. never wondered where most of area names come from? for instance harlem? That is true.

Cornwallis found himself in a killing box wedged between the troops of Washington, Nathaniel Greene & Harry Lee, and the Navy lead by Adm. Layfayette at Yorktown; resulting in his surrender. Had it not been for the flanking of the French Navy, the end result could have been different.

Hence, why we have so often came to the aid of the French. It is a debt we will not forget.

We have enough geography of our own to worry about.

:usa/euro:

That's not even including our biggest state, Alaska, which is more than twice as large as Texas and Texas is the size of France.

So, I'll take a geography test over Europe and take shit for not doing well on it as soon as you ace one on American geography.

Deal?

Here's our States and population centers if you need a study guide.
