It's fine and good that he believes in Christ, but did his life reflect that? A true salvation means turning your life over to Christ. It means allowing the holy spirit into your heart. Unfortunately there are a lot of fake converts out there.

Nowhere in the bible does it say suicides go to hell. Do you really think God would allow young children to go to hell? Many have killed themselves. Someone very close to me passed under similar circumstance. They visited me in dreams several times and I know they in Heaven.

That man could have had genuine repentance. Really we shouldn't even speculate or judge others PERIOD ON ANYTHING. None of us will be gossiping or accusing when we are being judged for are own lives.

This notion is completely dispelled by the thief on the cross next to Jesus. He showed faith in who Jesus was at that last moment and Jesus Himself said, you will enter into paradise with me this very day.

Faith is not displayed by what we do or what we say, it is displayed by what is in our heart. Only we truly know if we have faith in Christ and believe, or if we don't.

If Hernandez truly believed and repented, accepting Christ's gift of forgivness, he was saved.

Christ exchanged His life for ours, a free gift. A changed life and the things we show the world CAN mean a person is born again....but it can also mean that we are placing our faith in having a changed life and doing good works. The only works that matter are those done in the name of Jesus Christ, alowing HIM to be in control and not in our own vanity.

This is why Jesus said, "many will say to me, didn't we prophesy in your name? And I will say, I never knew you"

Beware making salvation anything apart from a relationship and faith in Christ. The minute that happens, Christ takes a back seat to your own beliefs.

I know many Christians are split on suicide and it's affect on entering Heaven. I'm a Christ follower myself, but wanted to open a debate. If he DID believe the words of John 3:16...

Hernandez was found dead with the words "John 3:16" written on his forehead, according to a law enforcement source directly involved in the investigation into

The notation is believed to refer to the words in the Bible from John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Thoughts?

I was wondering the same. The bible is silent on suicide. So I don't know what God does in this case. The question would be "How much did Aaron believe?" we will all find out one day soon. The end is Near for all.

It's my understanding the God calls us to be discerning but not gossiping, accusing or judging. I hope we can keep the discussion only to the former. Yes, we have enough to worry about with our own relationship with Him, yet we are still to be a light for others.

the only thing we know is that he died in total sadness and disgraced, therefore it would be nice if we all pray for the rest of your soul, disregard his personality here on earth. As a father even if is not my son is hard to see a wasted life with so much potential.

The murders are forgiveable, but the homo stuff is a no-go.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3939588

The homo stuff is forgivable if you repent. Every sin is forgivable if you repent .

But don't single out gays and murderers. God says ALL LIARS SHALL HAVE THEIR PLACE IN THE LAKE OF FIRE ((Revelation 21) if they don't repent as well.

And we have ALL TOLD LIES SO WE ARE ALL IN SERIOUS TROUBLE WITHOUT JESUS.

I agree that I feel such sadness over this. Just such sadness. Nobody in the entire situation came out a winner and I mean NOBODY , not even the prosecutor who got him convicted of the first murder, because now that conviction will be thrown out.

There were no winners in this at all. It was just tragedy. On every front. Just destruction of so many lives and futures and relationships.
