1978 had at least 15 incredible songs. Today, 2017, we have none.

Yeah, but 1978 wasn't even a great year. Take a look at the list for 1968. It puts '78 to shame with all of the classic rock songs from that year alone.

The Bee Gee were incredible musicians - I defy you to find modern group that could sing harmonies as tight as they did or as tight as Queen could.

Plus they wrote their own songs and hits for several other artists.

I wonder if he parents of the kids of 58/68/78 etc thought their kids' music was crap? You know, back in the day, we had Frank Sinatra.

Just a thought.

You know, I think my Grandfather secretly liked Black Sabbath. Never would admit it, but he was never bothered by it, never asked us to turn it down, and always drove us around without complaint and we'd play it in the car.

My Dad was like me...15 years behind. He was 18 in 72 but liked Motown and shit like that. He had some cooler albums but never spun them as far as I could tell. His musical tastes seem to have crestfallen after "House of the Rising Sun"

Op here. David Bowie had a great definition of art. He said that (I'm paraphrasing) we can eat our food off of plain white plates. Or we can eat them off of more interesting looking plates. And thus that defines our culture.

What kills me about today's music is the fact that almost every "hit" has to have another singer feat. in it.

How did the juhs figure out this makes more money? Must be some underlying devilment going on with this.afro

Let others say what they like. You don't have to put down everybody else's choices. I know you like to do that. But, quite frankly, I'm sick of your bully tactics.

easily the best song on there. great tongue-in-cheek lyrics about rock star decadence.

"i go to parties, sometimes until 4
it's hard to leave, when you can't find the door

i bought a mansion, forget the price
ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice

i'm making records, my fans they can't wait
they write me letters, tell me i'm great

so i got me an office, gold records on the wall
just leave a message, maybe i'll call

lucky i'm the same after all i've through,
life's been good to me so far"

GREAT song.

Didn't realize it came out that late. Thought it was late 60's early 70's. Thought The Who was ahead of their time with it. OH well, still great!

The Bee Gees dominated 1978. I think they had a top 10 song on the chart every single week of that entire year. Such an amazing group. Their Spirits Having Flown album is a masterpiece.

That Saturday Night Fever album was #1 for six months...these kids nowadays will never understand the impact that this band had at that time...heck of a time.
