China isn't a third world country. China's economy is larger than ours (has been for years) it has a larger military, is a nuclear power, and actively engages in espionage and steals lots of technology from the US.

If China wants to build aircraft carriers they won't be building old soviet ones. They will be copying or improving upon existing US designs.
