I live in Canada and this is our law concerning self-defense

I live in CO and we are allowed to open carry a weapon gun/blade whatever.

Also property owners are protected by a "make my day" law which protects a homeowner against prosecution while defending and protecting against threats at home.

If someone gets hurt during a fight or melee it can be tricky what happens though.

No offense OP but that is DUMB..I know you didn't write the law..Whomever did should be put in a maximum security prison with a dress and a can of Crisco. Only a mentally deranged individual would come up with such a law

Yes, but its not a law. They treat this criminal thing they've written up as a law, and judges have thrown people in jail for using pepper sprays. However, anything that violates your infinite rights and constitution and freedoms, is a crime against humanity, and a null and void thing that doesnt exist and they're committing crimes every time they do that.

They only win because people don't group up, form councils and state their intents in writing as a majority and all open carry. Guns. Bear Spray. Etc.

People need to stop these crimes that governments are committing, that judges commit, that police commit, against them.

This is obvious. But again, its not a law. It violates constitution and freedom. There are hardly any real laws, natural laws, the litany of thou shalt not harm others, like go to someone's home and rape and murder, those are crimes. These things that violate your freedoms are not.

You have the right to defend yourself. Don't let them think you don't have the right but you do.

I crossed Canadian border a few years ago, and was asked if I any DEFENSIVE weapons. Wtf! I get the admonition against offensive, but as a petite woman I guess I should just carry that white flag, huh? I have a RIGHT to self defense. To think a western country has convinced their peeps otherwise puts shivers to my spine.

Despite the way many stupid laws are written here, if you have a legit case of self defence you will rarely ever be actually charged.

It matters not what we believe, but rather, what matters is what they believe. It is against us.

I live in Canada, I took a law class and we learnt about self defence.

You are aloud to defend yourself. Its proportional agains the threat.

If someone your size is punching you you can punch back.

If someone is bigger than you or basically more of a threat you can use a weapon.

If some huge guy is attacking a woman and she grabs a lead bar and bashes him over the head it is legal. You are aloud to use a much force as necessary to protect your self from the threat.

If you are a massive guy and a woman attacks you, you can push her thrown her down away, etc but it is unreasonable to grab a 2x4 and smash her over the head.

The circumstances are taken into account its not cut and dry.

Sounds like the old "necessary force" rule or "reasonable force". Also, once attacker is down its over. You cant punch him in the head, especially when people are filming.

You are 100% correct. We're witnessing satanism go mainstream. The aliens are fallen angels/Satan's rebellion. Old news but I like to toss that in there. It helps bridge the gaps.

I started this thread due to now having to fill out a form at a well known store (Canadian retail company which sells a wide range of automotive, sports and leisure, and home products.) before they will allow you to buy bear spray.

I live in a small Ont. town with a population of 10.000 and it is normal to see bears in town and in your backyard. I went online after refusing to fill out the form and was disgusted with laws that seem to favour the criminals but persecute the innocent when it comes to self-defense.

Here's what is currently on our books:

"Under the Criminal Code of Canada, such prohibited weapons can be "any device designed to be used for the purpose of injuring, immobilizing or otherwise incapacitating any person by the discharge therefrom of

(a) tear gas, Mace or other gas, or

(b) any liquid, spray, powder or other substance that is capable of injuring, immobilizing or otherwise incapacitating any person."

When the law says "incapacitating any person" they mean ANY PERSON, including a criminal seeking to take your life or the life of your loved one. Get the wrong judge & jury and there is a good chance the criminal would go free and the victim put in prison for defending themselves with, say, bear spray.

BTW, I doubt I would ever use bear spray on someone trying to kill me. It wouldn't be pratical and way too slow to be effective. I would use it (bear spray) for what it was intended and that is to stop an aggressive bear while out hiking in the wilderness or even in town if one was to come around me when I'm out walking the dog at night.

I don't go into cities anymore. I just enjoy the vast wilderness and avoid humans

Ahh I see... The old crappy tire log books/forms to buy bear spray.

Pro tip: wasp spray- the good stuff that reaches several feet- is great to keep on you to deter attacks from wild wasps. If you coincidentally need it to defend yourself from other threats and that's all you had then it's an easy case from a defence lawyer if it even makes it that far.
