Now the microscope will be on the renegotiation. As someone said above, to make NAFTA more fair, Mexico must raise wages. Particularly at the maquiladoras. Doubt that will happen, because U.S. corps that run those ops don't want it to happen.

OP..........as I am sure you have noticed, people are dumber than shit. Oh he flip flopped,,,,,,you see that everywhere. No.......Trump knows exactly what he is doing. He is getting the other players off guard and panicky, then when they start kissing his ass and snivelling he agrees to keep something but things have to change.

He now has them mentally in a position to make concessions they would not normally do because they believe he will scrap the whole damn thing and that would, at least for a while, throw serious screws into the economy of Canada and Mexico with regards to exports.

Only way this will not work for him is if Trudeau grows a pair of balls and says fuck you and fights it or says fine, scarp NAFTA. But he is way too woosey to do that.
